Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast - Covid - 19 For our beloved guests:
Little did we know when we first opened our doors back in 2007 how much our family's lives as innkeepers would change, and all for the better. The past year has been an unprecedented one, and we have never worked harder. Your encouragement has been an incredible lifeline of support.
We are eagerly looking ahead for a better 2021, and to being able to continue following our dream. Our goal as always is to be the best hosts we can be, add more improvements and amenities, and to be here for you for many more years. We absolutely love being your comfortable and relaxing home away from home, and being able to enjoy having so many of you here time and time again. You are family, and we appreciate it more than it is possible to put into words.
For everyone's comfort and safety, even though we only have seven rooms, we have chosen to go even smaller this past year. Unless we have a family group, we have been not using all of our guest rooms at once. This allows us additional time needed for cleaning, sanitizing, laundry and dishes, and just allows everyone plenty of space for that much needed relaxation.
We have a a newfound appreciation for the way the guest rooms are spread out as well, with the Ludington and Michigander Rooms being outside with private entrances, and the Romantic Retreat Suite is below off the main floor. We are continuing to stay on this same careful, smaller path through the winter months of 2021.
Until things ease up in the future, again for your safety and ours, we will have a mask on when interacting with our guests. Following our state mandates, it is a requirement that our guests wear masks when walking around the inn.
Please request a self check in if desired. Otherwise, one of us will very cheerfully be greeting you in a mask, and will show you around so that you can see where everything is for your enjoyment.
If you need anything at all and we are not to be found baking in the kitchen, please call the inn phone at 231.845.8074 or send us a text.
If you have been our guests in the past, you will know we absolutely love to cook and bake for you. Chris and Melanie both have ServSafe Certifications from the National Restaurant Association.
Since we opened, a beautiful bountiful breakfast has always been served when you wish, featuring multiple selections. This is a tradition that will always continue although we have made some tweaks for the better.
Each breakfast is carefully and individually prepared. You also have a variety of options regarding both table selection and location, including in room breakfasts or being served outside as weather permits. Breakfasts are spaced out even more so you can enjoy as many of your favorite dishes to your heart's content.
All of our home made desserts are prepared daily and can be served to your room at any time. Otherwise, each room has its own designated area featuring our freshly baked covered desserts. Each room also has their own location for dishes, silverware, napkins, and anything else you may need.
Sanitizers, sprays and wipes are always available in multiple locations throughout the inn - even masks if you need a disposable one.
This season brings us to another level of cleanliness. Here at Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast, we have never put a number on how long it takes to properly clean a room, and when we think we are ready, we carefully double check again following all the new guidelines plus those of our own.
Rooms are always very well stocked as there is currently no in room housekeeping, although we are always available for anything you need.
Paper supplies and additional towels are located on the second floor hallway shelf and table.
You will catch us disinfecting and performing extra cleaning duties throughout the day paying close attention to touch points such as light switches, tables, surfaces, door knobs, powder room, etc.
As professional innkeepers, since opening, we have always been a member of the Michigan Bed & Breakfast Association, along with the Ludington Bed & Breakfast Association. As members of the Michigan Bed & Breakfast Association, we adhere to a rigorous nine page inspection process.
We also appreciate being part of the American Lodging Professionals (formerly PAII and AIHP) allowing us access to an incredibly deep pool of the latest information. Our support system also includes the American Hotel and Lodging Association - Safe Stay, CDC, and the National Restaurant Association.
Thank you so much, and thank you for supporting small family businesses.
We can't wait to see you! Melanie, Chris and family
