The Ludington area is one of the most beautiful areas in Michigan. Just driving along the tree lined roads leading to Ludington is a wonderful experience.  Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast is less than a mile from the pier, North Pierhead Lighthouse, charter fishing out of the number one port in Michigan, SS Badger Ludington car ferry, Waterfront Park, and Stern's Park (voted best beach in Michigan).  Winter brings more beauty, with the snow and ice turning Lake Michigan into a winter wonderland. The Ludington State Park is the queen of the Michigan parks, with the dunes, winter snowshoe walks by day or moonlight, cross country skiing, and miles of scenic uncrowded beaches on Lake Michigan and on Hamlin Lake. Come and rent snowmobiles at Action Rentals. Any season is a perfect season for a getaway to the inviting Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast with its many complimentary amenities.

The annual Ludington July 4th parade is not to be missed. It is definitely one of the best parades in the state and it passes right by the inn. Candlelite Inn guests will all have a prime view in comfort as we put all the patio furniture out at dawn. Featured parade guests include the Scottville Clown Band and they are as delightful as their costumes. They have been performing and wowing audiences for over 100 years. Stay through July 6th and 7th for the Ludington Fine Arts and Crafts Fair with over 180 booths.

Nearby winter fun:

When those beautiful white flakes arrive, snow lovers can cross country ski on 16 miles of trails at the Ludington State Park which is just five miles away.  Reserve your place in one of several snowshoe making classes offered at the park in November and December by calling (231) 843-9261. Guided snowshoe walks are held throughout the winter and you can bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair on a first-come first-serve basis at the state park. All walks begin and end at the warming shelter complete with picnic tables.

Ludington State Park is offering free guided snowshoe walks every Saturday, weather permitting, this January 2008. These hour and a half guided programs will take you out through the park's snow covered sand dunes. There are two walks given each Saturday starting at 3pm. or try the “Moonlight Walk” at 7pm. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight for the moonlight walk.

At The Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast, we have a folder of Ludington area attractions including everything from restaurants to shops, antiques, charter boats, and lots of brochures. We are happy to assist you with your special plans, and to make dinner reservations for our guests.
