This was our first New Year at Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast, and the first big murder mystery for us to be a part of. Wow, did it get the year off to a great start, and the guests were all so wonderful, and everyone had so much fun that we are still talking about it! Between participating in "Murder at An English Mansion" (we have about a dozen mysteries), a number of our guests went to a nearby winery, and we had all sorts of drinks and snacks for everyone, plus a big reception one night, and dinner at Jamesport the next. After midnight, we joined in to play Trivial Pursuit (to my dismay I don't seem to be nearly as good at the trivia as I used to be - give me Wheel of Fortune), and we had two teams going. Tony still has it, and the sweet librarian of the group really has it!
We just tucked away the last of the Christmas items and now we are planning for the Winter Wonderland weekend, and next month's Chocolate Lover's Weekend, plus we have a January special on all month (see home page). Hopefully there will be some more snow soon as we just had a light dusting, so people can get out in the beautiful Ludington State Park and enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Yesterday was so pretty and sunny we stopped at the North Pierhead Lighthouse which is less than a mile from the inn down Ludington Avenue. We just love hanging out there at the parks, as year round it is one spectacular spot, and it is so soothing to watch the water and the waves splash along the pier. It didn't look like the fisherman were doing badly either.
