Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 8-10 PM - Music In Our Ludington Parlors
Local Musicians Play Private Concert at Ludington,
Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 8-10PM
Left to right: Third Coast Gipsy Jazz, Chris Wiser, Chad Rushing, John Merchant
Four area musicians or groups will be performing in the parlors of our Ludington Historical Bed and
Breakfasts. After enjoying a nice dinner on your own, head to one of our participating Ludington Inns
for desserts and live music performed exclusively for our guests. This event will include two venues
each night for a total of four hours of live music. All inns are within walking of each other.
Meet the Musicians:
Chad Rushing, born and raised in Louisiana, has been influenced by Blues, Zydeco, Reggae
and nearly every other genre you can think of. He skillfully blends it all together into what he calls
“Mountain Man Hip-Hop.” Whether he’s live on the stage or pumping through your speakers, he’s
a sure treat, and we hope you enjoy!
"Chad will be playing at the Ludington House on Friday, April 21."
Chris Wiser, has been composing original music and performing professionally as a vocalist and
guitarist for over 20 years across western Michigan. With Grand Rapids based bands Soul
Syndicate and Two-Headed Sam, Chris has opened for GRAMMY Award nominee Bad Company at
Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Blue Oyster Cult at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo, The Storm
at Val-Du-Lakes, and has performed across Michigan at most of the state's large music venues.
Talented Chris has been referred to as a human jukebox, and will take your requests during his
performance on Friday evening at Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast.
Ludington native John Merchant has known all his life, he was meant to be a musician.
As his bio on his website reads, "I swear it's what I imagine being called to the ministry is like.
I just don't know anything else. Whenever I'm playing, I still feel like the same kid with 'Beatles
Live at the Hollywood Bowl' on the turntable, an unplugged guitar around my neck and a mirror
in front of me, it's all I've ever wanted." Playing music has allowed him to travel the country, make
music in major markets like New York City, Nashville, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, and Key West,
and share stages with acts like CCR, the Goo Goo Dolls, Swag, Robbie Fulks, Rachel Proctor,
Deana Carter, and others as a member of Dutch Henry, and with artists such as Ray Wylie Hubbard
and Peggy Young as a solo artist.
He released his maxi-single/E.P. "Midwest Blues" on the Highway Driver label in January, 2017.
"The effort features the single "Midwest Blues" which appears in another form on Dutch Henry's 2005
debut "1973", as well as another Dutch Henry re-record, "Down So Long" and a new track featuring
Dave Feeney (Loretta Lynn, Jack White) on steel guitar titled "No Graceland".
John will be playing at The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast on Saturday, April 21st.
Third Coast Gipsy Jazz Band will be at the Ludington House on April 21. Two guitars and a big
bass fiddle compose this trio who's music is inspired by the sounds of Django Reinhardt a jazz
guitarist popular in the 20s to 40s. Listen to some of their tunes on their facebook page.
