| Tony and Melanie welcome you to Ludington's Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast!
It is important to us to do whatever we can to make you feel at home the moment you enter, to be as accommodating as possible, and to offer our guests plenty of wonderful options. After all, this is your special getaway, and on many occasions, our guests have not been able to take any special time for themselves for months, or even for years. We want to provide more than just an ordinary room, so that you may leave with fond memories of your treasured time away.
Your hosts met back in the early 80's at college, and are both University of Michigan grads, and were both born and raised in Michigan. Tony has a degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus a Masters In Business Administration. He is very enthusiastic about all sports. Melanie has a B.S. in Psychology, but had the same amount of credits in English, and as you can tell by this website, enjoys writing. Our three children are grown and now all in college, so we are new empty nesters so to speak. The kids come when they can, and we are so happy that their fiances, and friends enjoy the inn so much too. It is wonderful to have guests, events, cooking and projects to keep us active. Tony is a retired quality engineer, and keeps very busy around this century old B&B wearing many hats. Melanie dabbles working on several websites including the Candlelite Inn site. Plus, we manage and rent a very cozy Myrtle Beach Resort vacation condo.
We fell, okay I especially really fell in love with B&Bs after an anniversary getaway. We began our journey by purchasing a lakefront condo which we have since sold, and then purchased our Myrtle Beach condo. For twenty years, Tony always said if he wasn't an engineer, he wanted to so something in the culinary field. On the weekends, we would often be treated to his scrumptous omelets and Amish potatoes. When we got serious about purchasing a bed and breakfast, this was the very first one that we toured, to the amusement of the inn broker who assisted us. He said most buyers take two to ten years to find their B&B. Two months later, here we were! I still remember how nervous I was when our first guests came. We still are always trying and tweaking new recipes, and coming up with different ideas, so it, and our great guests keeps everything fun for us.
If you are looking for an inviting, comfortable getaway, with unexpected amenities, great hospitality, and delicious foods prepared to your wishes on your schedule, look no further. |
